ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

QIW Goals & History

The goals of the Annual Quantitative Imaging Workshops are to convene multi-disciplinary stakeholders to:

01

Explore approaches to more precisely characterize signatures in early lung cancers using imaging tools in routine clinical settings.

02

Extract maximally useful clinical information to optimize the benefits/harms ratio for individuals undergoing thoracic evaluation in annual low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) screening, especially related to lung cancer, COPD and cardiovascular disease.

03

Ensure economical access to screening for all individuals at risk for lung cancer, COPD and cardiovascular disease, while overcoming disparities that have been previously reported in mortality from diseases detected by LDCT.

James L. Mulshine, M.D., International Leadership Award

This annual award is presented to someone who has had a profound influence on reducing the negative impact of early thoracic diseases, including lung cancer, COPD and cardiovascular disease.

The recipient of the 2026 award will be recognized at the Quantitative Imaging Workshop on November 12.
